🚨 A SPANISH ENCLAVE OF JUST 84,000 PEOPLE WAS SUDDENLY CONFRONTED BY AS MANY AS 60,000 MIGRANT ARRIVALS — LEAVING STREETS OVERWHELMED, BUSINESSES SHUT AND FRIGHTENED RESIDENTS HIDING INSIDE THEIR HOMES. Ceuta was plunged into chaos as huge crowds crossed from neighbouring Morocco by land and sea in one of Europe’s largest migration surges in recent memory. With shelters, food supplies and public facilities unable to cope, some residents described people sleeping outdoors, bathing in fountains and using streets because basic sanitation had collapsed. Spain deployed troops and additional security forces as dozens died attempting the crossing and thousands began returning across the border.
