Shock footage shows girl, 17, stabbed in the neck in horrific daylight attack as man, 30, held over ‘attempted murder’
HARROWING video footage has captured the moment a teenage girl was stabbed in the neck in a horrific broad daylight attack.
Armed police were scrambled to the scene in Brierfield, Lancashire, yesterday after a 17-year-old was knifed in the back of the neck as she walked down the street.

6The broad daylight attack on Wood Street saw the teenager rushed to hospital for treatment.
Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening, cops said.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the wake of the attack.
Lancashire Police have since confirmed the man, who remains in custody, is British born and of Pakistani heritage.

6Detectives continue to probe the violent attack with police appealing for any information that may help their investigation.
Footage of the horror shows a girl walking down the street before a man rushes up behind her and swings his hand at her.
The man’s fist connects with the teen’s head and he swings at her again before she has the chance to flee.
After the girl makes her escape, the man stands on the side of the road for a second before also running away from the scene.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “You will be aware that yesterday afternoon we were called to a report of a stabbing in Wood Street, Brierfield.
“A 17-year-old girl was found to have been assaulted and stabbed in the back of the neck and she was taken to hospital for treatment.
“This was a very serious incident but thankfully the girl’s injuries were not life-threatening.
“After receiving treatment and care, she has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home with the support of her family.
“Our officers arrested a 30-year-old man from Brierfield on suspicion of attempted murder shortly after the stabbing and he is currently in custody. He is a British-born man of Pakistani heritage.
“A dedicated team of detectives are leading the investigation into the stabbing and our enquiries are ongoing.
“There are no further outstanding suspects in relation to this investigation and there is currently no evidence to suggest this attack was racially motivated.
“Extra patrols will be in the area over the weekend for reassurance and we know this incident will have caused alarm in the local community.
