Prince William and Princess Catherine will not be in attendance at Taylor Swift’s star-studded wedding to American football star Travis Kelce, an insider has revealed. The confirmation comes just weeks after William playfully hinted that he had been invited during an appearance on Heart FM’s Breakfast show.
Taylor and Travis, both 36, are reportedly set to tie the knot this week, with the wedding thought to be taking place in New York City. William has previously met Taylor on a few occasions, with Princess Charlotte known to be “obsessed” with the US singer-songwriter and her music.
The 44-year-old attended the first night of Taylor’s Eras Tour London shows in June 2024, alongside Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
Asked by Heart FM’s presenter Amanda Holden if he would be in attendance at Taylor and Travis’ wedding, William replied: “No comment,” which prompted laughter in the studio.
He then added: “I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see.”
William first met Taylor back in 2013 at the Centrepoint Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace.
The pair famously joined Jon Bon Jovi onstage for an impromptu rendition of “Livin’ on a Prayer.”

After the show in London in 2024, Taylor shared a backstage selfie with William, George and Charlotte, whilst Travis also posed with the royals in another photo that quickly went viral.
Alongside the picture, which was shared on Taylor’s Instagram account, she wrote: “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.”
Taylor also tagged William and Catherine’s handle along with a string of Union Jack flags, American flags, and handshake emojis.a
