At 79, Sally Field has become the oldest performer ever to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie, capturing the trophy at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards for her portrayal of Tova Sullivan in Netflix’s adaptation of Remarkably Bright Creatures.
Her win narrowly edges out the previous category age record set by Jessica Tandy, who was also 79 when she took home the award for Foxfire in 1987.
