King Charles is spending the next few days in Bermuda after his US state visit this week. The monarch had been in America since Monday with Queen Camilla, carrying out various engagements to strengthen the US-UK relationship.

While the King was in America, there was some discussion over whether he would see his youngest son, Prince Harry, who has called the US home since 2020. However, a meeting between the pair never took place. The reason was reportedly that the King had a busy schedule, but royal insider Katie Nicholl has claimed otherwise. In the very first episode of The Royals Uncensored podcast, which launched on April 30, Nicholl revealed that father and son didn’t meet because their relationship is at “an all-time low”.

On the podcast, which Katie co-hosts with Jo Elvin, the Vanity Fair royal editor said that Prince Harry is also making his father “nervous” because he isn’t going through official channels to communicate.

Nicholl said: “I actually think the real reason [they did not meet] is because the King knows any conversation he has with Harry, there’s a very high chance it will be leaked. I actually got on the phone and spoke with someone very close with the King, and they said that’s exactly it.

“The relationship actually between the King and his youngest son is at an all-time low at the moment because Harry isn’t going through the official channels when he wants to reach out to Charles.”

She continued: “That official channel is by going through his private secretary.

“What Harry does is to go off-piste and try and contact his father directly, and that makes Charles nervous.”
