David Beckham‘s long-awaited Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony is shaping up to be one of the biggest moments of his career, but there are ‘growing fears’ it could be clouded by the ongoing rift with his eldest son, Brooklyn.

The football icon, 50, has been confirmed as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025, securing a coveted star following the global success of his Netflix documentary.

His plaque will notably include his title ‘Sir’, after he was knighted by King Charles late last year.

However, while the honour marks another glittering milestone, it is thought the celebrations could feel bittersweet, amid uncertainty over whether Brooklyn, 26, will attend, despite living just a short distance away in Los Angeles.

The ceremony date is expected to be set within the next few months, with nominees given up to two years to schedule their unveiling.

David’s star is expected to be laid before the summer World Cup in the US, and will be located less than five miles from the Beverly Hills mansion Brooklyn shares with wife Nicola Peltz.

The timing has raised eyebrows given the increasingly strained relationship between Brooklyn and the Beckham family.

The former photographer-turned-chef notably skipped David’s knighthood ceremony, and in recent weeks it emerged he had blocked both David and Victoria – as well as brothers Romeo and Cruz – on social media.

A source told The Sun: ‘Brooklyn snubbing David’s special day will be a very public humiliation as he lives in Hollywood.

‘Of course, David is hopeful the family will have mended their relations by then, especially after he has offered an olive branch to Brooklyn. The rift has been a great cause of heartache.’

The Daily Mail has contacted David and Brooklyn’s representatives for comment.

On New Year’s Eve, David appeared keen to work things out, sharing a heartfelt Instagram post featuring all four of his children.

One photo showed him smiling alongside Brooklyn, captioned: ‘I love you all so much.’ Brooklyn did not publicly respond.

Instead, he and Nicola were seen ushering in the New Year in South Florida, partying at an ultra club as 50 Cent performed live, while the rest of the Beckham family spent the festive period in the UK.

Despite the tensions, sources close to Brooklyn insist all is not lost, claiming there are still ‘open lines of communication’ between him and his grandparents on both sides of the family.

David’s Walk of Fame honour places him among an impressive list of fellow 2025 recipients, including Jessica Chastain, Green Day, Busta Rhymes, Colin Farrell and Lauren Graham.

Stars are selected across six categories, from film and television to music and sports entertainment, with only around 20 honourees chosen each year.

Recipients are also required to pay a $75,000 fee covering installation and long-term maintenance of the star, though organisers traditionally decline to confirm who foots the bill.
