Alexander Zverev has turned 2026 into the most consistent Major season of his career.

The German bested Botic van de Zandschulp at the US Open to enter the last four, reaching the semi-final stage at all four Majors in the same calendar year.

Alexander became only the ninth player in the Open era to achieve the semi-final at all four biggest events in a season, joining the most accomplished players of the last 60 years.

Rod Laver, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are on that list, which speaks volumes about Zverev’s achievement, with the Hamburg native entering the chart that spans more than half a century of tennis history.

Considering the names surrounding him, this is a milestone that puts his 2026 campaign into a very different perspective, with the 29-year-old seeking a spot in his third straight Major final.

Zverev completes the Major sweep

The numbers tell the story of Alexander’s consistency on the biggest stage in 2026, which was not always the case in the past, especially at Wimbledon.

The world No. 2 was the semi-finalist at the Australian Open, losing a thriller to Carlos Alcaraz after five and a half hours. He then reached the title clash at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, winning his first Major crown before falling to Jannik Sinner at the All England Club.

Entering the US Open as the top seed for the first time, Zverev overcame a slow start to the campaign and found his A-game to beat five rivals and advance into the last four.

From consistency to a chance at another final

Alexander has already achieved a lot with 23 Major victories by his name in 2026. What makes his milestone particularly significant is what could be waiting for him in New York.

With Karen Khachanov as his rival, the German is the favorite to reach another notable final, the third in a row since Roland Garros. There, he would face Ben Shelton or Frances Tiafoe, which is not a bad scenario to seek the second Major title of the season.

Even without that, his 2026 campaign already stands apart. While experiencing some setbacks in the past, Zverev now stands as the most consistent player at Majors, hoping to chase another title and make him the year-end No. 1 contender.
