American tennis continues to dream of a final between two local players. Jessica Pegula, who qualified on Tuesday for the semifinals after defeating her compatriot Emma Navarro, has now been joined by Coco Gauff, the conqueror of Mirra Andreeva, for 

‘Gauff, champion of the tournament in the 2023 edition, was able to save two match points in the second-set “tie-break,” at 6-5 and later 7-6. She sealed a favorable scoreline of 2-6, 7-6(7) and 6-2. ‘

Andreeva, at 19 years old, once again showed her poor sportsmanship by throwing her racket when her opponent got the decisive break in the tiebreak set.

The Arthur Ashe stands were pressing in on the young Russian, who could feel it despite having the experience of being a Grand Slam winner. Coco will not be able to leave New York as world number one.
