As the Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini drama continues, more details continue to surface, and they don’t look good. The New England Patriots coach returned to work on Monday after a three-day counseling session with his wife that forced him to skip Day 3 of the 2026 NFL draft.

While rumors have suggested that the Patriots might have prepared for life without Vrabel, even listing Mike Tomlin as a potential replacement, his players showed total support for the 2025 Coach of the Year.

“I’m focused on what we got going on right now in this building, with this team,” team captain Hunter Henry said. “Obviously, had a long season last year, quick turnaround into the offseason. We’re in a new building, and every year is a new year. So, we’re trying to build this team. We’re trying to come together. I’m just focused on the guys in this locker room and trying to build it from the ground up again. We got a long journey ahead of us, and we got to start somewhere. So, starting right now.”

Mike Vrabel Reportedly Feels Remorse Over Dianna Russini’s Situation

On Tuesday, The Daily Mail reported that Mike Vrabel feels bad about the situation he put Dianna Russini in.

“Mike feels terrible on many levels, especially since Dianna’s career is pretty much over, and that blood is on his hands,” the source said. “He feels terrible that he is responsible and that she may never be able to work again.”

“There happens to be so many emotions going through him right now that for whatever counseling he is taking part in will be a continued situation for the foreseeable future. All of this is not going to be fixed overnight. He has to get on the right page with himself, and everyone involved, and that is easier said than done, and we are currently on the bottom of that mountain.”

They added that Russini’s focus was on protecting her kids from all this situation, but nobody knew what her next professional step would be.
