Meghan Markle is said to be distressed after new allegations claimed that she and Prince Harry used their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as bargaining tools amid the continuing dispute over security arrangements in the UK.
Harry travelled back to Britain alone this week for commitments connected to the 2027 Invictus Games, while Meghan stayed in California with Archie and Lilibet. Previous reports claimed the Sussexes had hoped their children might have the chance to spend time with King Charles, but that meeting ultimately did not happen.
According to Closer, Meghan has been left deeply wounded by accusations that she and Harry were trying to involve their children in order to put pressure on decisions surrounding their security.
A source claimed: “For Meghan, this feels like one of the lowest accusations yet. She is used to being criticised, but having people make painful and false claims involving her children is something she finds completely unacceptable.”
The insider also alleged that Meghan was shocked anyone would believe she and Harry were using Archie and Lilibet to pressure the King into giving them what they wanted.
Security concerns are reportedly still the key reason Meghan decided not to make the trip to the UK. The source claimed the couple feel they cannot safely bring their children to Britain unless proper protection is in place.

“They truly believe any parents facing the same concerns would make the same choice if they believed there was even the smallest possible risk,” the insider said.
Buckingham Palace and representatives for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been approached for comment.
