The night was supposed to be Jordyn Tyson’s during the NFL Draft. However, his mom ended up stealing some of his shine.
Despite playing sparingly for much of his collegiate career, Tyson emerged as a favorite of fans and scouts alike.
Tyson has quite the family tree. His brother is Jaylon Tyson. NBA fans may know him as he plays on the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the 2025-26 regular season, Tyson averaged 13.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 26.9 minutes. The Cavaliers selected Jaylon with the No. 20 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Jordyn Tyson’s parents are John Tyson and Sandra Tyson. It’s his mom who has stolen some of his attention online. One picture showed him and his mom posing after his draft selection.

Jordyn Tyson Gets Drafted

Jordyn is a talented WR from Arizona State, the second off the board Thursday night after Ohio State’s Carnell Tate. The New Orleans Saints drafted the wide receiver on Thursday night. New Orleans stayed at their No. 8 overall pick, and Tyson fell to them.
This was a great pick to help bolster the wide receiver corps for second-year quarterback Tyler Shough. Tyson dealt with significant injuries throughout his college career, missing a total of 17 games.
Despite his injury history, Tyson was highly productive as a college wide receiver. During the 2025 season, Tyson recorded 61 receptions for 711 yards, plus eight touchdowns. In 2024, Tyson totaled 1,101 yards receiving on 75 catches, plus 10 touchdowns.
The Saints could be gaining a playmaker for Shough in their offense under second-year head coach Kellen Moore.
