PRINCE HARRY’S ONCE-CLOSE FRIENDSHIP WITH PRINCESS BEATRICE IS REPORTEDLY “EFFECTIVELY OVER” — AFTER SHE WAS SPOTTED DINING WITH MEGHAN’S MOST OUTSPOKEN NEMESIS Harry was long believed to have remained close to Beatrice and Eugenie despite his bitter split from the wider Royal Family. But Beatrice’s recent appearance in Saint-Tropez with Piers Morgan — who has repeatedly attacked both Harry and Meghan — has been described by royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths as a deeply “telling” choice. The sighting does not prove Beatrice has deliberately chosen a side, and neither she nor Harry has publicly confirmed a new fallout. Yet after years of strained loyalties, insiders believe one seemingly innocent meal may have crossed a line the Duke will struggle to overlook.

Prince Harry’s friendship with one senior royal is allegedly under pressure after she had lunch with his “nemesis”. Prince Harry was believed to have remained very close with his cousins Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 36, despite renouncing his royal duties and moving away from the UK in 2020.

A family insider told PEOPLE in 2023 they were “so close” and “they’re still the best of friends and talk constantly”. However, Princess Beatrice was recently spotted in Saint Tropez with Piers Morgan, according to Charlotte Griffiths, the editor-at-large at the Mail on Sunday, who previously shared headline-grabbing texts with the Prince.

She said the appearance was “very telling” because not only have Beatrice and Eugenie kept a low profile following the scrutiny of their father, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, but the rare sighting was with a broadcaster who has repeatedly insulted her cousin.

Piers Morgan has thrown a tirade of remarks in Prince Harry’s direction, most recently calling him an “entitled brat” after he lost his case against Associated Newspapers, which publishes the Daily Mail.

The journalist also said he did not believe Harry’s wife Meghan Markle, after she made comments about her mental health and suicidal thoughts during her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Piers’ comments prompted 41,000 complaints to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom and a formal complaint to ITV from Meghan, and he stepped down from Good Morning Britain soon after. He said his refusal to apologise cost him his job.

Speaking on the True Royalty podcast, Ms Griffiths speculated that the Duke’s friendship with Princess Beatrice would be “effectively over” after this.

She said: “I thought that was very telling because, of course, Piers Morgan is her cousin Prince Harry’s absolute nemesis,” Griffiths said. “So any friendship she has with Prince Harry is effectively over from this moment.”
