Prince William appeared to send a clear message to Prince Harry as he arrived on horseback at this year’s Trooping the Colour parade. The 43-year-old has been pictured at the historic event today, which is one of the biggest in the royal calendar.

Having taken place in London today, Trooping the Colour is held annually to mark the monarch’s official birthday. The decision to ride on horseback shows William front and centre of the event, which will one day, when he becomes monarch, be held in honour of him.

The clear message appears to show that William is the future of the Royal Family and that his brother, who now lives in California with his young family, is nowhere to be seen.

Harry last attended the event in 2019, appearing alongside his wife, Meghan Markle. The couple were new parents at the time, with Prince Archie’s birth just a few weeks before the event.

The future King’s determination to ride on horseback today also shows that he is supporting the King and other senior royals, such as his wife, Princess Catherine.

Joining their nephew on horseback, Prince Edward and Princess rode as Colonel of the Scots Guards and Colonel of the Blues and Royals.

King Charles rode to the parade ground in a carriage with Queen Camilla.

The Queen had a special role to play in this year’s parade as she is the Colonel of the Grenadier Guards regiments, who trooped their Colour at Horse Guards Parade today.

While her husband rode horseback, Princess Catherine was seen arriving in the procession, joined by their three children.

Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and eight-year-old Prince Louis could be seen smiling at onlookers who lined The Mall.
