Dianna Russini is without a job and remains the main social media topic. Russini, a high-profile NFL reporter, resigned from The Athletic this week following a controversy involving published photos. She could be seen holding hands and embracing New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel at an Arizona resort.

Page Six released exclusive photos, reportedly taken over the weekend of March 28, 2026, showing the pair engaging in PDA. That is not becoming of two people who are married to somebody else.

The one thing that has come out about Russini is her overall behavior over the years regarding men with whom she was not in a relationship. Some in sports media, like Dan Le Batard, Jemele Hill, and Michelle Beadle, have shown support, but not everybody is on her side.

The fallout from Dianna Russini’s sudden exit continues to ripple across NFL media circles. While some prominent voices have rallied behind the veteran reporter, others have taken a far harsher stance.

USA TODAY SMG reporter Crissy Froyd didn’t mince words with her response about Russini.

“I’m sure you were told to submit this or that you’d get fired instead. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,” she said. “We know who you really are and what you’ve been up to for years. It does so much detriment to women in sports who have done things the right way,” she wrote.

“It does no benefit to her to admit anything close to the truth. Why would she? She gains nothing. Part of me almost feels bad for her — she’s in her 40s and I think wanted to be good and ethical from the start. But she’s not been for years on end. You make your own bed…”

“I will be so real here. Relationships with players and coaches and reporters isn’t really troubling to me. Giving something up for info is as an exchange is wrong. Build your career on your own integrity. I don’t support her at all.”

Crissy would eventually send a statement to the Daily Caller and admit her own deeds with a former quarterback. Froyd addressed online chatter regarding a past personal connection with former quarterback JT Daniels. She indicated that she became involved with Daniels after he retired from football.

“I have never slept with a player or coach for professional gain,” she claimed. “Dianna cannot say the same. That’s where the difference is,” she concluded.
