‘Stomach churning’ serial killer doc is perfect for Idaho Murders fans
The three-part release can be streamed online for free, but past viewers have issued a stark warning
A “stomach churning” serial killer documentary is available to stream for free, and it’s perfect for fans of Netflix’s The Idaho Murders.
The harrowing true crime documentary followed the chilling case of four university students murdered in their off-campus home and swiftly rocketed to the top of the streaming service’s most-watched list.
For true crime fans looking for something to watch next, there is another chilling series on two infamous serial killers that carried out their crimes here in England.
Fred and Rose is a three-part series that explores the infamous relationships and killings of notorious killers Fred and Rose West. The English married couple hid a dark reality, torturing and killing at least 12 young women and girls, including their own children, in a brutal spate between 1967 and 1987.
Most of their savage crimes took place in their home at 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester, which is known as the ‘house of horrors’.
It wasn’t until the 1990s that they ere caught, sickening the nation with the gravity of their crimes. Spanning across three episodes, Fred and Rose can be streamed on STV player for free.
An official synopsis reads: “Across three stomach-churning episodes, this series charts the infamous relationship and killings of Fred and Rose West – who committed at least twelve murders between 1967 and 1987 in Gloucestershire – as well as the events leading to their capture.”
The three part series starts with revealing the events in Fred and Rose’s early lives that led to their becoming murderers, before they are plunged into the ‘house of horrors, where they carried out the murders of their first victims. Viewers will also learn all about the chilling killing spree and how the killers were eventually caught.
Having first been released in November 2014, the mini series plunged viewers into a never before seen insight into Britain’s most prolific serial killers and how their crimes went unnoticed for decades.
On IMDb, one reviewer previously said: “WOW! This doco [sic] is the most comprehensive overview of the murderous Fred and Rosemary West ever!” They went on to say: “This film is so creepy you will need a shower when it is over.”
It’s not the first documentary to delve into these horrific crimes. Most recently, Netflix released Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story, featuring over 50 hours of newly surfaced and unheard police audio and video tapes.
In 2021, ITV also released Fred and Rose West: Reopened as Sir Trevor McDonald re-examined the case, looking into whether there could be potential undiscovered victims.
