Meghan Markle slammed as she ‘hides’ from the public – ‘trying to prove a point’
Two royal commentators have criticised the lack of public appearances from Meghan Markle in the UK, as Prince Harry shows his face a number of times.

Meghan Markle has been questioned over her lack of public appearances in the UK, while Prince Harry has begun to show his face at events over the past couple of weeks. The pair caused shock when they announced their sudden move back to the UK, and their time here has already been shrouded in drama, such as when they had to pull their kids out of school over security fears, and the King’s bombshell statement about their status as private citizens.
While Prince Harry has attended a number of public events as he establishes a working life back in Britain, Meghan is yet to be seen, although she has shared several photos and videos on Instagram since their UK return, giving her social media followers brief glimpses into their Cotswolds life. However, Meghan has not appeared in public in any official or professional capacity since the couple returned to England with their kids after six years in California.
Two critics of the couple have called Meghan’s lack of public appearances into question, with one suggesting that it’s part of a narrative that the Duchess is putting out to the world.
Commentator Mark Dolan was joined by American royal reporter Paula Froelich to discuss the Sussexes’ life in the UK. When Dolan brought up the fact that Meghan hasn’t made any public appearances, Froelich suggested: “She’s too scared. She’s hiding at home.”
Dolan pointed out that they were not allowed to reveal the couple’s location, but said: “It’s a bit ironic that that’s what Meghan has done with multiple Instagram photos, effectively doxing herself.”
“What’s she hiding from?” he asked.

“I think she’s trying to prove a point that she’s just too scared to come out,” Froelich answered.
Later in the chat, after Dolan asked why the couple aren’t making public appearances together, Froelich pointed out that they are reportedly separating their professional and personal lives, which she says is understandable.
However, she then says it “serves” Meghan and helps prove her point that “it’s just too dangerous for her to go out”.
While Meghan and Harry have grabbed headlines with their UK return, one of Meghan’s close friends has suggested that they are settling in well to life in England. Kelly McKee Zajfen, who appeared in Meghan’s Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, shared a series of photographs on Instagram documenting time spent with the duchess.
“To everyone we’ve met or bumped into, thank you for being so loving to my friend,” she wrote. “It’s been beautiful to witness. She missed you too!”
