Meghan Markle has been lambasted by Daily Express readers after an overwhelming 98% rejected the idea of granting her a security review. A total of 30,598 votes were cast in the Daily Express poll asking readers: “Should Meghan Markle be granted her own security review?”

Just 2% said yes, while 98% answered no. Less than 1% selected “Don’t know”. The poll followed revelations that the Duchess of Sussex is to receive her own security review after returning to Britain with Prince Harry and their two children. The Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures, known as Ravec, has written to Harry informing him that his situation was discussed at a meeting last week.

It was also revealed that Meghan would receive a separate assessment of potential threats to her.

The review is expected to be the first to assess potential threats to Meghan since she and Harry moved to the United States in 2020.

Their return to the UK has brought renewed attention to security arrangements surrounding the Sussexes, with their children’s school run reportedly among the issues being considered.

But Express readers were highly critical of the decision to give Meghan her own review.

One of the most-liked comments declared: “What for? She isn’t a royal, she will come under her husband’s umbrella!”

Another reader, who claimed to have studied constitutional law, wrote: “I did constitutional law and can guarantee you there IS NO REVIEW for Markle.”

They added: “Nice try Sussex but we have knowledge.”
