César Domboy (Fergus) admitted the episode was incredibly difficult to film, saying:

“It felt very real. After ten years playing this character, saying goodbye to Fergus was heavy. We had to go to some very dark places emotionally.”

Lauren Lyle (Marsali), who shares an incredibly close off-screen friendship with César, fought back tears in interviews while discussing Marsali’s grief:

“Marsali has lost the love of her life. Watching César go through that final scene was heartbreaking. We both cried a lot on set. It felt like losing a real part of ourselves.”

The pair reflected on their decade-long journey as “Fersali,” describing how special it was to portray such a passionate, unconventional love story. They both revealed they were “very happy” with how the show handled their characters’ farewell, even though it deviates significantly from the books.
