PRINCE LOUIS GOOFS OFF WITH HIS UNCLE’S DOG IN CANDID BACKGROUND MOMENT — THE SUDDEN HIGH-PITCHED BARK THAT LEFT ROYAL PHOTOGRAPHERS COMPLETELY FROZEN 💔 An adorable yet chaotic scene has stolen the spotlight after a brand-new royal family portrait captured Prince Louis doing what he does best in the far background. While the senior royals maintained their perfect, stoic poses for the official cameras, the mischievous 8-year-old prince was caught entirely off-guard, engaging in a hilarious, unscripted roughhouse session with his uncle James’s spaniel. The real shockwave hit during a close-up review of the continuous shutter frames, when a sudden, high-pitched bark from the dog caused Louis to tumble backward into a priceless, wide-eyed face of sheer panic that exposed the absolute chaos behind the palace walls. Royal fans are going wild over the unedited prints as media outlets zoom in on the royal family’s most unfiltered rebel.

Kate Middleton had the support of her whole family as she secretly completed the National Three Peaks Challenge, including a four-legged member.

This week, the Princess of Wales, 44, shared some family photos from the challenge, which entails hiking the tallest peak in each of England, Scotland and Wales. Kate completed her challenge to help raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and had the support of the same family members who have been by her side since she received her cancer diagnosis in early 2024.

The heartwarming shots show her embracing her husband, Prince William, and their three children: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. Her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and younger brother, James Middleton, are also included in one family group shot.

But it’s Prince Louis who steals the show in the background of a particular picture, as he frolics with a dog, clearly having a blast as his mother and sister embrace in the foreground. The dog in question appears to be one of James’ two golden retrievers.

The youngest Middleton sibling is also a dog dad to four cocker spaniels: Zulu, Inka, Luna and Nala. He’s also bred and gifted all three of the Prince and Princess of Wales with their family dogs, past and present.

James has credited his connection with dogs as vital to his mental health. He opened up about his struggles with clinical depression, ADD and dyslexia in his 2024 book, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, which was dedicated to his beloved first cocker spaniel. In the candid memoir, James credits Ella with saving him from a bout of suicidal ideation in 2017, when he was planning on jumping off the top of his London apartment building.

Ella died in 2023, but lives on in James & Ella, his company dedicated to producing ethical dog food and advocating for the supportive role dogs play in challenging times.

“We speak more openly now about our own mental health as a family. That is a great thing,” James told PEOPLE in 2024.🔴‼️ 𝐍𝐄𝐖: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋: Totally in love with the back of this picture that captures Prince Louis playing with James Middleton dog, completely unaware of the camera 😍 I guess he really

That family support was especially evident in James’ touching tribute to Kate after she completed the Three Peaks Challenge, with James joining her on part of the hike.

“I’m so incredibly proud of my darling sister ❤️⛰️,” he captioned a photo of them embracing after finishing the climbs. “Two years ago, I told you we’d climb this mountain together. We talked about climbing mountains while you were in hospital, and about the incredible healing power that nature can have for both the body and the mind. So it was such an honour to join you for your Three Peaks Challenge for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.”

“Seeing how far you’ve come is nothing short of inspiring. Your strength, resilience, and determination, all while being the most amazing mother, wife, daughter, and sister, inspire me and so many others every single day,” he added. “Keep being exactly who you are”
