While this is very exciting for royal fans and those at Eton, it is not the first time a prince has graced the grounds of the school. This is because George’s father Prince William was also a student at Eton College, and thoroughly enjoyed his time there. William’s estranged brother Prince Harry was another royal to have walked the Eton corridors.
While William, 43, had a great time at the school his son will soon enroll at, it seemed to be a different story for Harry, who reportedly did not always feel like he fit in.
It is believed Harry was also going through a very hard time for most of his school life at Eton, which he claims led to him doing drugs.
This gave him a very shocking two-word nickname around the school, with royal historian Robert Lacey claiming in his 2020 book Brothers of Brothers that Harry was “known as ‘Hash Harry'” at Eton.
This is because “of the smoky aroma that often emanated from his room”.

He wrote in his 2023 memoir Spare: “I don’t remember how we got the stuff. One of my mates, I expect.
“Or maybe several. Whenever we found ourselves in possession, we’d commandeer a tiny upstairs bathroom, wherein we’d implement a surprisingly thoughtful, orderly assembly line.”
He also admitted to taking class A drugs in his teenage years following the death of his mother Princess Diana.
