NFL insider Dianna Russini has been on the receiving end of criticism after Page Six shared a series of pictures of her being cozy with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at the end of March.

A lot has happened in a month, with Russini resigning from The Athletic, Vrabel issuing a statement that sounded self-incriminating, and skipping Day 3 of the draft to attend counseling with his wife.

Meanwhile, social media continues to unearth old clips and posts from Russini, only fueling speculation about the nature of her relationship with Vrabel.

Mike Florio Speculates About Old Dianna Russini’s Report on Tom Brady

Analyst Tony Farmer, one of the most famous people in the Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel drama, found a report about the Tennessee Titans suspicious. He noted that Russini said the Titans moved on from Tom Brady four days after the March 2020 photos were reportedly taken.

Florio offered his thoughts on the situation, wondering if it was part of a plan between Russini and Vrabel.

“While this item lacks the potential strategic benefits to the Titans of the Julio Jones reporting, it’s another bread crumb on a trail that people are now examining,” he wrote. “And it’s fair to question whether the Titans were simply putting a positive P.R. spin on the possibility that the Brady had said “no thanks” to the Titans before the Titans created the impression that they were saying ‘no thanks’ to Brady.”

He also noted that ESPN took a while to address the Russini-Vrabel drama, suggesting they might have known what happened behind the scenes and would prefer to stay away from it now.

“This latest nugget also helps explain ESPN’s relative silence regarding the entire story,” Florio added. “ESPN largely ignored it until it had no choice but to cover it. While some have suggested it’s a result of the NFL’s recent acquisition of a 10-percent stake in ESPN, it’s possible ESPN doesn’t want to face the question of what it knew, and when it knew it.”

The Athletic’s investigation continues weeks after Russini resigned.
