Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys were dealt a totally unexpected and random surprise during their pre-draft conference on Wednesday.
A day before round one of the NFL Draft, where they own two first-round picks, Jones and the Dallas Cowboys’ brass held one more presser with reporters. While Jones was speaking, former President Bill Clinton unexpectedly walked in to greet the room:

Jones then left the table to greet and rave about his longtime friend. But he nearly didn’t make it, stumbling as he made his way across the stage. Luckily, the 83-year-old regained his balance and stayed on his feet, avoiding a disastrous situation with the media looking on.

The 42nd president of the United States also made a joke that he was coming in to negotiate the Cowboys’ 2026 Draft.

There is a special connection between Clinton and the Dallas Cowboys. He welcomed them to the White House three times over a four-year period to celebrate their Super Bowl triumphs in 1993, 1994 and 1996.
Jones and former Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson (he led the team to two Super Bowl titles), both attended the University of Arkansas. Clinton served as a law professor at the university before beginning his political career.
Dallas Cowboys Have Eight First-Round Picks In 2026
Every draft is important, but this is certainly one of the most important for Dallas under Jerry Jones. They own two first-round picks (Nos. 12 and 20), one coming from the Green Bay Packers in the Micah Parsons blockbuster trade.
Dallas also has the Nos. 92, 112, 152, 177, 180 and 218 picks. Dak Prescott isn’t getting any younger at 33. CeeDee Lamb is in the middle of his prime. George Pickens could leave in free agency next year.
So yes, this draft is especially pivotal for the Dallas Cowboys compared to previous years. Jones could easily rebuild this team into a contender if he hits on his early picks. That’s a big “if”, of course.
