Diego Pavia going undrafted was one of the bigger surprises of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Pavia received a message from Deion Sanders, whose son Shedeur experienced his own draft shocker last year. While Shedeur was drafted in the fifth round and eventually landed a starting role with the Cleveland Browns, Pavia’s path into the NFL will be a lot tougher.

According to Adam Schefter, the former Vanderbilt star has accepted a minicamp invite from the Baltimore Ravens.

It’s not a signing, and nothing is guaranteed. However, the door isn’t shut on him.

That he’s going to be training with the Ravens could have been ironic.

The team’s quarterback, Lamar Jackson, is known for representing himself and has negotiated his own deals throughout his career.

With Pavia going undrafted, a video of him telling Joe Gruden he has no agent and doesn’t want to give anyone his money has gone back into the cycle.

The above has since been clarified. Pavia does have a registered representative; he just didn’t have a NIL agent while in college.

“He is indeed represented,” ProFootballTalk confirmed.

“Pavia is, as it turns out, willing to let somebody take his money — as it relates to his NFL contract. And the fact that he doesn’t have a contract yet can’t be blamed on not having an agent. Which, frankly, isn’t a good sign.”

For now, the NFL is still within reach.

One would have thought it would have been easier for the reigning SEC Offensive Player of the Year to end up on a team. Pavia led the Commodores to their first double-digit win season ever and finished second in the Heisman voting.

He’s the first player to have such a CV yet experience a draft snub in 12 years.
