Mia Tindall is the mirror image of her mum Zara Tindall as she gets into the saddle at horse riding competition

Mia Tindall is following in her mother Zara Tindall‘s footsteps.

The 12-year-old took the reins on Sunday to compete at the annual Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials, just like her mum. The young royal appeared confident in the saddle for the Heythrop Pony Club Blenheim Palace Show Jumping competition in Blenheim, Oxfordshire.

Mia looked so grown up and smart in her traditional riding uniform with tall riding boots, a fitted competition jacket, and her hair tied back beneath a black helmet. While Zara is used to being the one competing, the royal was there in the role as proud mum and spectator this time around as she supported her eldest daughter.

Mia looked like a pro as she got in the saddle for the showjumping competition on Sunday with her horse Bunny Two Twirls.

In a 2019 interview, Zara revealed both her daughters, Mia and Lena, had taken to riding.

“They both ride. Lena is in a little basket on the saddle, purely a passenger. But we just bought Mia a new pony called Magic,” Zara told Australian publication Now to Love.

Dressed casually in white skinny jeans and a navy blue jacket, Zara oversaw Mia take on the course behind a pair of stylish sunglasses. The royal completed her sporty look with her hair tied back in a low bun.

Zara and her horse, Classicals Euro Star, have been competing this weekend.

Zara wasn’t just a spectator, she was there to help feed her daughter’s horse in-between jumps.

A day earlier, Mia took a hands-on role as she was seen grooming her mum’s horse during the horse trials in Blenheim.

Look at her go! Mia was a natural as she showed just how confident and practiced she is behind the reins, impressively guiding her horse over a hurdle while her mum Zara kept a watchful eye on her.
