Kate Middleton Has Cute Encounter with Little Girls Who Practiced Curtsying for Their Royal Moment

Two young girls couldn’t help but practice their royal curtsies for Kate Middleton.
The Princess of Wales, 44, and Prince William, 44, attended the world premiere of Digger at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square in London on Tuesday, Sept. 22. During the event, a couple of young girls were eagerly awaiting to see Kate.
In a sweet video shared on X by Daily Mail reporter Rebecca English, the girls could be seen waiting behind a divider for the royal couple to arrive. The older girl clutched a large bouquet of flowers while the younger held a Digger program, as the pair repeatedly peeked around the corner in anticipation.

As they waited, both made sure they were ready for the royal arrival, with the younger girl straightening her socks while the older practiced her curtsy.
When William and Kate arrived, they stopped to greet the two young girls. In the footage, William can be seen chatting with the younger girl while Kate speaks with the older girl, who presented her with the bouquet. The royal couple, who are parents of three, spent a few moments talking with the girls before thanking them for their gifts and continuing into the premiere.
For the occasion, Kate wore a rich plum Jenny Packham gown with a plunging neckline, ruched detailing at the waist and a sweeping skirt. William wore a black velvet suit jacket and black trousers.
At the event, they were photographed with Digger star Tom Cruise. The royal couple’s joint appearance comes four years after they walked a red carpet for a different Cruise flick, Top Gun: Maverick. Prior to the May 2022 premiere, Cruise, 64, invited the couple to a private screening of Top Gun: Maverick in April 2022.

The Digger premiere marked the 73rd Royal Film Performance, held in support of the U.K.’s Film and TV Charity. The prince and princess were welcomed by representatives of the organization before walking the red carpet and meeting the Digger cast and creative team members, including Cruise and director Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
The last Royal Film Performance was the premiere of Ridley Scott‘s Gladiator II in November 2024. Rather than the prince and princess, King Charles, 77, attended, after taking over as patron of the charity following the death of his mother and predecessor, Queen Elizabeth.
While not a patron of the Film and TV Charity, Prince William is President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), which supports and develops the production of film, TV and video games in the U.K.
